a little bit of natural
This piece definitely has it going on! It's a true rags-to-riches. It's really hard for me to resist this style of dresser so I snatched it up when I saw it. It was in rough shape, but I sort of hung on to it until my sister decided she wanted to claim it for her bedroom makeover.
It was in such sad shape that a complete sanding was needed - down to the natural wood. It looked so pretty sanded down that it inspired our final look. We gave the drawers a coat of Minwax Early American. We love to use that stain when we want a really natural look with hints of honey. It really brought such beautiful depth to the wood.
The frame was painted in General Finishes Lamp Black and then heavily distressed to give amazing character. Those knobs - gorgeous just how they were so we didn't touch them. We used a clear paste finishing wax to seal - we didn't want any sheen to this one. This is the part of furniture refurbishing that is so rewarding. This one wouldn't have gotten a second glance before and now it is literally one of our most "liked" pieces. We'll definitely be recreating this look in the future and offering for sale. Sharing some more pics of this favorite :-)
