adorable hutch gets a makeover

Loving how sweet this antique hutch looks with its new makeover. I've got my eye on this look for my own home!!

Yes, it's missing the glass, but that is on purpose. We had originally planned to put chicken wire in the door and remove the decorative scroll, but then we had a client snatch this one up and order it for customization. We love that she chose to leave it open to better showcase all of her daughter's treasures.

We used General Finishes Antique White, followed by a clear and dark wax application to achieve this aged look. I absolutely LOVE those legs! Always so much fun to distress.

I used a power sander on this piece to help with the distressing, but did the legs by hand. Take a look at the gorgeous decorative scroll - I can't beleive I was originally planning to take that out!

This was one of our last pieces to go out the door for 2015. Our client loved it and we can't wait until she surprises her girl with this! We will leave you with a few more pics of this antique gem:

We want to sincerely THANK our clients for giving us wonderful business in 2015. Here is to an exciting new year full of fun furniture makeovers. Hopefully we will get to experiment with some smaller items (think pallet signs) to offer an even wider variety of items to choose from.
